“Desneiges Giroux”, a difficult name to pronounce for Filipinos was transformed to “Denny” during her stay in the Philippines and it meant commitment, dedication, formation.
Daughter of Montfort and Marie Louise, woman of Liberos, flying here and there, running or walking near and far, she helped others discover the wonders of God in and around them, their giftedness and mission. In the Philippines from 1994 to 2007, she was involved in a variety of activities.
Desneiges was very committed in spreading the Montfortian Spirituality and in helping out in giving parts of the Totus Tuus Journey to groups of lay persons attracted by Mary and Montfort’s writings and life. After having been much involved in the preparation of the life giving celebration of the Tricentennial of our Congregation, she started the group of the Friends of Wisdom in Manila. In demand in different religious congregations for sessions on Human Development and for counseling, she was also a much appreciated presence on the Vocation Promotion Team of the Diocese of Manila. Desneiges was likewise our resource person for the session on “Wisdom and Creation.”
Indeed, Desneiges, your presence will always stay in the hearts of those you have touched. You were and will always be Wisdom’s instrument of light for others to discover that they are special and loved by God. Even though we are sad to see you leave, we are nevertheless happy that your experience and expertise will benefit our sisters from other countries.
Thank you for having shared with us the true essence and value of the Montfortian Spirituality, of the place of Mary in the Church, and of Wisdom who brings us to spiritual growth.
Through your new mission in our Congregation, may you bring in each entity you are serving the torch of Wisdom that fosters hope and light, that expresses and deepens the common culture of Christ Wisdom’s love in Mary.
Our prayers and affection will always accompany you in all your trips and in your pilgrimage from the head to the heart.
