« Paroisse Sainte-Famille held a spaghetti dinner on Friday at the Blind River Community Centre, which raised $2,403. This was the brainchild of Sister Bernadette who got the idea a few days after the earthquake.

"I woke up Sunday morning and thought I had to do something," she explained.

She was prepared to pay for the space, but the Town of Blind River donated its use.
With very little lead time there was a concern about how many would turnout. She says more than 270 people strode through the doors that Friday. »
